Medical massage improves the functioning of various bodily systems such as blood circulation, muscle tension, back, neck, and head pain, and promotes a sense of overall relaxation and calm.
Medical massage is fundamentally different from spa massage and is performed in a medical or therapeutic clinic setting. It focuses on alleviating an existing medical issue rather than general relaxation.
Therapeutic techniques used in medical massage include trigger point therapy and myofascial release to help relieve muscle pain.
Godelman College offers students content-rich studies in a homely atmosphere, alongside practical training and hands-on experience.

More About Medical Massage
Medical massage studies are a professional massage course composed of a variety of techniques. For instance, students will learn to perform stretching, Swedish massage, joint mobilization, deep tissue massage, trigger point pressure, and more. Treatments are tailored to each client’s condition, goals, and preferences—whether to reduce muscle stress and pain, improve blood circulation, ease headaches, promote relaxation, increase joint flexibility, or relieve back pain.
Students who choose this course will find it diverse and engaging, with a rich and empowering curriculum. They will also learn that a typical session—usually lasting about 45 minutes—can involve the use of base oils and sometimes essential oils tailored to the patient’s specific condition. The results are often highly effective. The course also includes training for treating various populations and special cases, such as athletes, people with injuries, disabilities, and more.
Where Should You Study Medical Massage?
There is no single right answer, as several institutions offer medical massage courses. However, it’s important to examine key factors when choosing a college. First, ensure the institution has a solid track record and strong reputation, like our college, established nearly 30 years ago. Pay attention to the success rate of graduates integrating into rehabilitation centers, HMOs, sports clubs, spas, and more.
If you have a busy schedule, make sure there are evening or morning class options and that the course offers flexible arrangements. Also, check whether it’s a short or long course, the size of the classes, and whether the college ensures small groups with personal attention. The qualifications and experience of the instructors are also key—preferably instructors with advanced, relevant academic degrees and extensive field experience.
Additional Considerations When Choosing a Course
Budget is naturally a consideration, so compare costs. Each college offers different pricing for a medical massage course, based on its reputation, curriculum, teaching quality, and student services. Often, the price reflects the value and quality you receive.
Choosing the cheapest option isn’t always the best, and the most expensive doesn’t necessarily mean the best quality either. If a course is priced higher, check that the college has a strong reputation to justify it. Conversely, if it’s significantly cheaper, make sure it doesn’t come at the expense of course quality or the certificate’s recognition. Ensure that the diploma you receive is internationally recognized—especially if you plan to work abroad.
Also, check whether you meet the admission requirements. In most cases, the entry requirements are simple and don’t require prior professional background. Still, it’s best to verify this with the college. We also recommend reviewing the college’s website, looking for independent reviews online and on social media, and, if possible, consulting someone you trust who has studied there.
Is Medical Massage Right for You?
Medical massage studies are suitable for those interested in the human body, who enjoy physical touch and believe in its therapeutic benefits. It’s ideal for individuals who want to acquire a professional skill set that enables employment in established institutions or opening their own clinic, and who seek work that allows them to help others.
